About me

I am a Christian designer and artist pouring passion, empathy, and joy in to everything I create. Nature, jazz, classical music, faith, impressionist art, and accessibility are my greatest sources of inspiration. When I am rarely not doing something creative, I can be found hiking outdoors, reading, swimming, designing surface patterns, hanging out with my cats, or playing board games.

Much of what brings me joy and inspiration comes from slowing down and paying attention to the world around me. I’m especially drawn to nature, where hiking allows me to reset, observe shifting light and color, and reconnect with a sense of calm. Being outdoors helps me notice small details, the kinds of moments that often go unnoticed but stay with me long after. If I could sum it up in a word, it would literally be the cliché of “stop and smell the roses”. Our natural world also offers so much inspiration that sometimes finds its way into my design work after a nature reset.

Impressionist art has long been one of my greatest inspirations. I’m deeply inspired by the way impressionist painters captured emotion, movement, and atmosphere rather than perfection. I love how light, texture, and color can suggest a feeling or memory without needing to be exact. In my own free time, I enjoy painting impressionist and modern art, experimenting with loose and pointillist brushstrokes, layered color, and expressive forms. Painting is both grounding and freeing for me. It’s a space where intuition leads, where imperfections are welcomed, and where I can explore ideas without constraints.

Music often accompanies my creative time, especially jazz and classical pieces that bring rhythm and flow to the process. Faith also plays an important role in my life, offering reflection, gratitude, and a sense of balance that shapes how I experience creativity and rest. Together, art, music, and faith create a steady undercurrent of meaning and inspiration in my everyday life.

When I’m not painting or hiking, I enjoy drawing, swimming, reading, designing surface patterns, and playing board games. I love moments of quiet creativity just as much as shared laughter and play. At home, I’m rarely without the company of my cats, who provide both comfort and a gentle reminder to pause. If we ever work together, they will share their opinions on our project work on any remote meeting they have a chance of joining.

These hobbies aren’t just things I do in my spare time. They are how I recharge, stay curious, and remain connected to the beauty and playfulness that inspire me every day.

Black and White Photograph of a woman presenting to an audience. There is a screen with words projected onto it. The words on the screen talk about designing for disability and describe types of assistive technologies.

I'm a medical device experience designer working at the intersection of digital and physical product experiences specializing in interfaces on or in medical devices.

I use a proven multidisciplinary approach to design integrating professional industrial design, digital design, experience strategy, and anthropology approaches and experience together to provide empathetic and human-centered experiences with a focus on accessibility, culture, and key stakeholder needs. My passion is in improving healthcare experiences and my purpose is empowering those with different ability or illness.

“My passion is in improving healthcare experiences and my purpose is empowering those with different ability or illness.”

My strength is as a design generalist, not siloed into a specific area of design. Storytelling, compassion, strategy, and meaningful inspiration drive my design process to generate perceptive, bold, and people-first solutions. My areas of expertise are in designing medical devices, graphic user interfaces, connected responsive apps, and assistive product solutions. I am a designer with disability, and I use my disability as my superpower to supercharge my empathy for people living with different ability or temporary disabilities.

I strive to produce thorough and thoughtful deliverables with attention to detail by using a highly iterative work ethic centered around critique from team members and user feedback. Due to my drive to learn and grow professionally and personally, I always try to remain receptive and welcoming to feedback and critique.

Organization is paramount so I can set clear, impactful, and time-sensitive goals. In the professional environment, I enjoy bringing together collaborative and multidisciplinary teams while performing as an engaging, honest, and punctual team player. When tasked to lead or direct teams, I put the project success and team needs first by being an empowering, nurturing, and inclusive team organizer. It is important for me to be kind to and considerate of not only the people I design for, but also the people I design with.

Whenever possible, I enjoy volunteering with fellow designers to mentor and inspire the next generation of designers with design thinking and design for accessibility skills.
